MOMENT at the Koyasan Buddhist Temple

On March 10, 2018, Wakana Kimura will celebrate the opening of an exhibitions titled MOMENT an installation of her work.

Taking the notion of the contemplation, Wakana Kimura’s seminal work will be installed in the sacred hall of the Koyasan Temple. Deliberately calculating the perception of an approach from a common ground to the sacred. The audience is intentionally moved and shifted without warning from seriousness to the bazaar can be trace through infinite range of subject at the space in-between. This installation is part of Kimura’s ongoing series of works that deals with combine collaboration within unconventional spaces. Collecting the resources of the ancient to contemporary, Kimura has intermingled her works into a groundbreaking venture.

This intimate private special two-hour exhibition will be held at the very hidden meditation room called Daishi-do of the Koyasan Buddhist Temple. This Daishi-do is closed to the public and admitted only by the priests. The Koyasan priest has given artist Wakana Kimura a special permission to display her work in the Daishi-do.
